FAQS

  • Each session typically lasts between 6 to 8 hours but can run up to 10 hours.

  • Most of my clients are able to manage the pain for the full session. However, in rare cases, especially in sensitive areas like the ribs or neck, it may be more challenging. If you find yourself unable to continue, I’m open to discussing a price adjustment on a case-by-case basis. Over my 15 years of tattooing, this has only happened a handful of times.

  • I don't pre-numb the skin before starting your tattoo because it can change the texture of the area and affect how well your skin absorbs the ink, potentially dulling the final color after healing. However, I do apply numbing cream halfway through the process, once the skin has already been tattooed. This method doesn’t affect the final result and helps take the edge off the pain. That being said, it’s important to come mentally prepared, knowing that tattoos do hurt, and overcoming that challenge is a crucial part of the experience.

  • After your consultation with Sage, he will provide an estimated number of sessions. Smaller tattoos are easier to gauge, but larger pieces like sleeves or backpieces are more difficult to predict with precision.

  • Absolutely! If you change your mind, just contact us at least 48 hours before your appointment, and you’ll receive a full refund—no questions asked. If your tattoo has been designed, there will be a $300 fee deducted from your refund.

  • It takes about 4 weeks for your skin to fully heal and return to its natural state. However, within one week, you can typically resume normal activities like going to the gym, swimming, running, or anything else that might cause sweating or affect the healing process.

  • Sage is confident in his method and has a very high success rate of perfectly healed tattoos, provided you follow his aftercare instructions. However, if your tattoo heals less than perfect for any reason, Sage will perform any necessary touch-ups to ensure your tattoo meets the highest standards.

  • Yes, you can be tattooed for a maximum of 3 days in a row, which is especially convenient for those traveling. However, be aware that this can be a challenging process and may require a longer recovery time. If you live locally, I recommend limiting it to 2 consecutive days for the best results.

  • The skin fully recovers in 4 weeks. However, if we’re working on an area that doesn’t require going over the previously tattooed part, you can come back in as little as 1 week. That being said, it’s good practice to wait 4 weeks, as this allows us to make any necessary adjustments or touch-ups to the previous section during your next session.

  • Yes, I do coverups. We can assess the tattoo together, and I'll give you my best recommendation. If I’m confident I can achieve a successful coverup, I’ll proceed. If not, I may suggest an alternative, such as laser treatment to lighten the area, which would make it easier to work with. The approach depends on the existing tattoo and the design you want to place over it.

  • I prefer working on limbs and backs, but I am open to tattooing other body parts as well.
